Friends Pathway Program

Homeschool & online school enrichment

The Pathway in-person enrichment program for homeschool and online learners

gives students the opportunity to learn, connect, and belong with a steady group of peers.

What is The Pathway Program?

The Pathway Program at Friends School is an in-person, part-time enrichment program for homeschool and online learners to learn, connect, and belong. Whether your child is homeschooled or uses an online school program, the academic part is often well covered. What’s harder to find is in-person classes and electives with caring teachers, a steady group of peers, and hands-on learning.

The Pathway Program is designed for that. Homeschool and online school students in grades K through 8 participate in weekly classes taught by our faculty, drawing on our existing arts, music, language, and electives offerings.

PROGRAM BEGINS SEPTEMBER 1

The Pathway offers Two Paths during Fall & Spring Semesters:

K-4th PATH: Arts & Language

  • M/W/F mornings
  • K-4th students rotate through Spanish, Art, and Music with Friends School’s arts and language faculty.
  • Each morning runs two concurrent 55-minute classes, with each subject meeting twice during the week.
  • Students meet as a dedicated group on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and are grouped by age: K–2 in one class, 3-4 in another.

Middle School 5th-8th PATH:

  • M-Th afternoons
  • 5th-8th grade students join the Friends School student body for their regularly scheduled electives.
  • Students choose four classes from four available elective periods for a total of eight hours per week.
  • The full elective course list is announced each August and may include jazz band, theatre, improv theatre, hip hop dance, Spanish, yoga, fitness, gardening, painting and drawing, and basketball. Students may repeat most electives if they want to continue.
