I am brand new to Boulder as of the summer and could not be more excited to be here. I grew up in Evanston, just north of Chicago. Last spring, I graduated from American University in Washington, DC, with a double major in Secondary Education and Sociology. Most recently, I was a student teacher at Westland Middle School in Bethesda, Maryland, where I taught 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies. Before that, I student taught at DC International School, working with 11th and 12th Grade IB Global Politics students.
Throughout my undergraduate career, I worked as an assistant on an NSF grant focused on problem-based learning, influencing my educational philosophy. I believe deeply in interdisciplinary, experiential, and problem-based learning that supports students in creatively applying their knowledge to the world around them, underlined with a strong student-teacher relationship. I currently hold my initial Colorado teaching license in secondary social studies and am beginning a master’s program at CU Denver through the TPP program.
Outside of the classroom, I love to dance, spend time with dogs, and enjoy live music with friends. I am beyond excited to join the Friends community, embracing the values held close, and to work alongside Anna in the art program!
