I am excited to share my journey and passion for education with Friends School this fall. Born and raised in Colorado, I bring over 15 years of diverse teaching experience to the Kindergarten classroom, spanning special education, kindergarten, first grade, and middle school, as well as administrative roles.

My passion lies in the science of reading and finding innovative, developmentally appropriate ways to support children’s reading development. I am deeply committed to providing rich and engaging learning experiences through thoughtful curriculum implementation, coupled with a deep understanding of child development and research-informed decision-making practices. I love to sing, play guitar, and make up songs and I bring that to the classroom every day.

I am a native Coloradan who grew up skiing and hiking, and I still love all that Colorado has to offer. I attended CU (Go Buffs!) and obtained my undergraduate degree in psychology and my master’s degree in educational psychology. I’m passionate about understanding human development, particularly the developmental stages of reading. I am a state-certified teacher with an endorsement in special education. One of my passions is singing, and I delight in bringing that to the classroom to enhance learning and foster community. I believe that children learn through fun, thoughtful, developmentally appropriate, and engaging activities.

I have two daughters who go to school at Friends, and they are the light of my life. My husband works at NOAA as a meteorologist, and we all get excited about the natural sciences

Challenging minds. Nurturing spirits. Honoring individuality.
