Nicole Gilbert

My name is Nicole Gilbert and I am so excited to be the Teacher Candidate in fourth grade!

I relocated to Boulder in July 2025 after growing up in California’s East Bay Area, and the move has been an exciting new chapter both personally and professionally. I graduated from Sonoma State University in Spring 2025 with a degree in Early Childhood Studies, concentrating in community, health, and social services for children. During my time at Sonoma State, I spent countless hours working and learning in the university’s on-site childcare program, where I built meaningful relationships with children and families and gained hands-on experience supporting early learning through play, routines, and social-emotional development. After graduation, I worked as a summer camp instructor for a local organization, where I loved creating engaging weekly themes, planning activities that kept kids curious and active, and building strong connections with families. These experiences helped strengthen my confidence in classroom leadership, creativity, and communication, and they reinforced my passion for creating environments where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

When I’m not student teaching I enjoy reading, taking walks through the mountains, and going to live sporting events or concerts! This is going to be a great semester!
