Anna Von Pechmann

I am thrilled to be resident teaching in Dani Pifer’s Kindergarten class at Friends elementary school this coming school year.

I moved from the D.C. metropolitan area to Colorado in 2018 to attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins. In 2022, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Communication with a minor in Global Environmental Sustainability. In college, I took on various leadership roles in student media and realized that my strongest sense of purpose and excitement came from sharing knowledge with others to help them reach their full potential. After graduating, I explored my peaking interest in education by taking on a role as an assistant preschool teacher at Active Louisville Kids. I was one of three teachers managing a classroom of 14 kids ages 3 to 4 1/2 while additionally substitute teaching for a pre-k class of 4 to 5 year olds at the same center. In my 11 months at Active Louisville Kids, I used a nature-friendly, play-based curriculum, developed by the lead teacher, to support children’s cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth. It was incredible to watch the kids blossom from the beginning of the school year to the end of summer. My goal as an educator is to create a strong foundation for students that helps them gain confidence, communicate effectively, think creatively, and be open-minded to all the world has to offer them.

I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Friends this upcoming school year and support the students in beginning their elementary school journey!
